The 340-tons Rock... in the starting blocks !



During a visit to the quarry in Riverside where one part of the artwork Levitated Mass, by Michael Heizer, currently resides, we talked to the crew responsible for moving the boulder about the challenges of moving 340-tons. Moving the monolith is an enormous challenge. Levitated Mass will be completed and open to the public at LACMA in late fall, 2011. Video production: Alexa Oona Schulz.
